Adaptation to climate change
Adaptation is the second possible response to climate change. It involves taking certain measures to adjust to the current or expected impacts of climate change. By implementing adaptation measures, the goal is to reduce vulnerability and enhance resilience against adverse impacts such as increased heat waves, rising sea levels, more intense rainfall events, and changing seasonal patterns. Climate adaptation and mitigation do not exclude each other.
