GHGs impact on global warming

GHGs differ in their global warming potential (GWP) and have a varying lifespan in the atmosphere. To compare the emissions of each gas, the CO₂ equivalent is used. Over 100 years, 1 kg of methane will have a global warming potential 28 times greater than 1 kg of CO₂ emitted.
