Fight against climate change

Mitigation and adaptation are two complementary responses in the fight against climate change.

Mitigation involves taking measures to reduce GHG emissions (i.e., decarbonisation) in order to limit climate change. Energy efficiency, resource efficiency (waste management, etc.), and the production of energy from renewable sources are mitigation measures.

For companies, adaptation refers to measures taken to adjust to the inevitable impacts of climate change (droughts, floods, etc.) by investing, for example, in flood-resistant infrastructure or in early warning systems to reduce the negative impacts on their activities.
