Ready to get started?
In the section "The urgent call for decarbonisation", we understood that:
- human activities create an "additional" greenhouse effect whose impacts on the climate are strongly felt in North Macedonia;
- climate risks for companies are numerous (deterioration of assets, affected supply chains, productivity losses, stricter regulations, changing customer behaviour, etc.);
- decarbonising means improving competitiveness: cost reduction and energy independence, resource optimisation, market access, advantageous financing, etc.
But what are we trying to decarbonise?
It is essential to determine, from the start, what you are looking to reduce and measure.
It is recommended to conduct a GHG inventory of your company that will calculate direct and indirect emissions related to your activity over a year and then to establish an action plan that will reduce your emissions and your production costs.
Subsequently, particularly if your company exports, it will likely be necessary to calculate the carbon footprint of your products. This involves measuring the GHG emissions generated throughout their life cycle, from production to use and recycling.
